Musicality in dance. Basics. Module 1

Theory

In this module, you will learn what musicality in dance is and what it consists of. You will learn to identify the musicality of a dancer or musician. We will analyze music of different styles and talk about why everyone hears the same way, but "get into music" units. You will know why the knowledge of "musical layers" do not help in the development of musicality.

We'll cover the following topics:

• rumor
• what types of hearing are there
• what each of them is responsible for and what strengths they have
• what is pace
• what is duration
• what types of durations are there

Practice

Let's talk about the first way of plastic implementation of "Point" durations. This is the most popular method of plastic realization, which is used in 70% of all dance directions, basic steps, elements and movements.

You will learn how to correctly count the number of forms in a dance and in practice consolidate the basic law of musicality - "the number of forms should be equal to the number of durations."

Let's analyze different ways that allow you to reduce the "plastic lead-time" and "temporal losses" that prevent a clear and unambiguous performance of rhythmic figures. Consider the two main reasons why the dancer is in a hurry, as well as options for solving this problem.

You will master one of the most important exercises - the Ladder of Shares. You will establish a connection between the intention and the actual execution of durations. You will increase the accuracy of your performance and become more stable in keeping pace.
